Sketchnoting is a visual form of note-taking that I have loved for several years. When I started sketchnoting, I didn’t know many folks in India who did this, only to slowly discover several artists who mixed journaling with sketchnoting and did graphic facilitation as a full-time role.
This list is an attempt to collate folks that I admire who sketchnote, and are from India. This is in the order I’ve known (about) them.
Kriti Monga
Designer, Illustrator, Type-nerd, Design Educator, fellow NID alumnus. I first saw her Sketchnote Journals and was blown away by how she mixed multiple Calligraphy styles with a fluid layout.
Chitra Chandrashekhar (Mographies)
Design Educator, Graphic Facilitator. Chitra first introduced me to the world of Graphic Facilitation, and how sketchnoting translates to work.
Agalya (Noun and Verb)
Graphic Facilitator. Found out about Agalya & Nitasha through Chitra, and it was such a joy to see folks doing Graphic Facilitation full time. Now does Sketchnoting as a service!
Nitasha (Toontwister)
Graphic Facilitator. Found out about Agalya & Nitasha through Chitra, and it was such a joy to see folks doing Graphic Facilitation full time. Continues to do freelance gigs for Illustration & Sketchnoting.
Tanvee (The Lady Fingers / Noteworthy)
Designer, Illustrator, Sketchnoter. Started noticing that a studio was doing some interesting sketchnoting work, and ended up doing a Tandem live scribe with her for an ADI event. They’ve now spun-off a complete sketchnoting service, aptly called Noteworthy!
Roshni (The Visual Chronicler)
Design Strategist, Graphic Facilitator. I met Roshni around the pandemic and loved how she mixed facilitation, frameworks & visuals.
Tanvi (Silly Strokes)
Met Tanvi after the pandemic, and loved her spirit in doing sketchnoting gigs as well as building a community through her learning cohort. Does this full-time and often collaborates with other sketchnoters too!
Tanmay Vora
Leadership Facilitator. I stumbled upon Tanmay online and have loved the huge variety of sketchnotes he has done! Yet to meet him in person.
